Master Steve Sohn

CEO Steve Sohn was born in “The Bronx,” New York in 1949. He has been studying Martial Arts for 36 years with Black Belts in various systems. He is also one of the elite Instructors in the nation to be a Certified Krav Maga Law Enforcement Instructor. A retired New York City Instrumental Music Instructor, School District Coordinator and Elementary School Principal, Steve has an A.A.S. degree in Music, a B.S. in Music, M.S. in Administration and Supervision and a M.S. in Media and Television Technology. Steve opened Jujitsu Concepts Krav Maga Training Center in February, 1990.

Under the tutelage and guidance of Steve Sohn the school has won many awards for quality and service to its students throughout the last two decades.

Most recently Steve was awarded with the Martial Arts Spirit Award in 2007 and in 2008 won the Martial Arts Entrepreneur of the Year Award by the Educational Funding Company; the largest international Martial Arts consulting company in the world. Steve Sohn’s Jujitsu Concepts is considered to be one of the most successful and unique Martial Arts schools in the country. In 2005, Steve was elected to the Krav Maga Worldwide Advisory Board in recognition of his service to the system. Recently he has been a guest lecturer and motivational speaker at various Martial Arts Business Conventions both nationally and internationally.

In February 2006 Steve was elected as an Advisory Board Member with the Educational Funding Company due to his unique business acumen. In 2007 Steve solidified Jujitsu Concept’s status and legacy in the Krav Maga community when it became one of six schools in the entire world to be designated a Regional Training Center.

In 2009 Steve Sohn became one of the few people in the country to earn his Black Belt in Krav Maga. At the time that he received his Black Belt there were less than 100 people in the country to have the distinguished honor of having earned the rank of Black Belt. This is even more impressive given Steve’s age. He is currently the oldest Instructor to have taken the Krav Maga Black Belt exam. He is honored to have been tested by Krav Maga Chief Instructor Darren Levine and Kokushi Matsumoto.
